The Google Toolbar has several handy features that make searching and surfing the Internet faster and easier. In addition, the toolbar has some extra features that allow you to share information with friends, family and others with just a few clicks of the mouse. With the toolbar installed, you can post information about Web sites that you have found to your blog within a minute or two, making it easier than ever to share information with your readers.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A Blogger blog
  • Operating System: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows ME, or Windows 98
  • The latest version of Internet Explorer or Firefox
  • An Internet connection
  • The Google Toolbar

Enable the Send To Menu in Internet Explorer

Step1
Click the Settings button. Select Options and then the Features tab.
Step2
Check the box labeled Send To and click OK to save your changes and exit the window.

Post a Web Page to Your Blog

Step1
Go to a Web page that you would like to post to your blog.
Step2
Highlight text on the Web page to include it in your blog post. Click and drag your mouse over the text to do this task.
Step3
Click the Send To button on the toolbar and select the Blogger option.
Step4
Sign in to Blogger when prompted.
Step5
Edit or add to the text information that will be included in the post. If you have included text from the Web page, note that it appears in quotation marks to indicate it was written by someone else.
Step6
Click Publish Post at the next window to post the Web site address to your Blogger blog. Alternatively, choose the Save as Draft option to save the information for editing. This is a good option if you want to make some format changes but aren’t familiar with using HTML.
Step7
Check the blog page once it is posted. Your post will be titled with the name of the Web site you linked and will contain a link to the Web site, as well as any Web page text you selected for inclusion.

Tips & Warnings

  • You must have a Blogger blog to use this feature. See the Resources section of this article for the Web address of the Blogger site.
