Fold a Bird-of-Paradise Napkin

Your guests will be inspired to think of tropical climes when they see this napkin, whose shape is inspired by the bird and flower of the same name.

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

Step 1

Fold a large napkin twice so that it's a square, and press. Now fold this square in half diagonally--to form a triangle.
Step 2

Fold the sides of this triangle in toward the middle - the bottom points will extend beyond the bottom of the original triangle.
Step 3

Tuck the bottom points under so they're even with the original triangle, and press flat.
Step 4

Fold the triangle away from you, so that these smaller triangles are hidden inside the fold.
Step 5

Now, carefully pull the napkin's corners up and out so that they look like the bloom of a bird-of-paradise.
