When you’re just getting started in pay-per-click advertising on your Web site, you just might find yourself completely overwhelmed. Likewise, when you’re doing really well and are running a number of successful PPC advertising campaigns, there may come a time when you can’t stay on top of all of them. In both of those cases, you may realize that you need help. That’s where a PPC management company comes in. But how do you pick the right one?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Knowledge of your budget
  • Internet connection
  • Sense of what you want to accomplish with your campaign
  • Comfort with asking questions
  • Time to research

Step1
Do your homework. Research what PPC management companies are out there and what services they offer.
Step2
Determine whether or not the company is qualified to run your campaign(s). Find out what its track record is and how long it has been operating.
Step3
Ask how much input you will be able to have in how the campaign is run. Determine whether or not the company will work with you to run the campaign or if the staff will want complete control.
Step4
Find out how much the company staff will do. Will they only work to manage the account with the search engine or will they also be writing the ads and making changes to the campaign as necessary?
Step5
Learn how the management company tracks the campaign results. Which reports do they evaluate, and how do they act based on the information.
Step6
Get information about the company’s reputation. Read client testimonials. Ask if there are clients who have used their service that you can contact if you have questions.
Step7
Choose a company with a good reputation whose business goals are in line with your own.

Tips & Warnings

  • Knowledge is the most important gift you can give yourself. Learn as much as you can about the company you think you’ll choose before signing a contract, and make sure that you can get out of the contract if it isn’t working out for you.
  • Make sure you’re comfortable with the company you select.
  • While using a PPC management company might be expensive, it will be worth the extra cost iif your campaign is run more efficiently.
  • Don’t select a PPC management company if you feel uncomfortable with them; if you don’t feel like it’s a good match, it probably isn’t.
