Marketing your Web products and services is an ongoing task. Whether or not you have chosen to market your site with a pay-per-click campaign or a newsletter, posting in forums can bring additional traffic to your site.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Web browser
  • Internet connection

Step1
Find forums related to your product or service.
Step2
Read the posting guidelines for the forums you think will be appropriate. Keep in mind that all forums have some rules for using their boards.
Step3
Join the forum. Keep your username simple.
Step4
Be active. Though many of your posts should be specific to your keywords and marketing your site, you will gain more respect in the forum if that is not all you do.
Step5
Answer questions other users post.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be a frequent visitor to the forums and post often. While the majority of your posts should be specific to your keywords, you should establish your presence on the boards and let people get to know you.
  • Only post relevant links in forums.
  • Make sure your posts are not merely ads.
  • Don’t post irrelevant information to a forum. If your product is business related, don’t post links to it in a music forum.
