How to Find Miami Restaurants Online

Planning a trip to Miami? A visit to the Magic City would be incomplete without sampling its delicious food. You can easily plan your trip ahead of time by using the many resources available online. Here’s how to do it.

  1. Step 1

    Go online and pull out the home page of your favorite search engine, such as Google or Yahoo.

  2. Step 2

    Search using keywords such as ‘Miami restaurants’ and note that a long list of results will come up. View some of the Web sites and see if any catch your fancy.

  3. Step 3

    Visit popular dining and restaurant-oriented Web sites (see below).

  4. Step 4

    Get a handy map of Miami, or better still, get a map of the South Florida metropolitan area which includes Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach. Look for maps online at several Web sites such as www.mapquest.com, www.lonelyplanet.com, maps.google.com and so on. Understand the surrounding areas and neighborhoods of Miami. The following are prominent Miami neighborhoods: Downtown, Overtown, Allapattah, Little Haiti, Model City, Upper East Side, Wynwood/Edgewater, Little Havana, Flagami, Coral Way and Coconut Grove. Locate your hotel, areas of interest, attractions and so on and their location on the map.

  5. Step 5

    Search for restaurants in South Florida metropolitan area, such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Miami Beach, West Palm Beach, Pompano Beach, Kendall, Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Boynton Beach and Delray Beach.

  6. Step 6

    Search for restaurants by specifying the area, attraction or neighborhood. Use the name of the location or a landmark as the keywords along with ‘restaurants’ in the search box.

  7. Step 7

    Search by type of cuisine. For example, American, Italian, Jewish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Lebanese, Cuban, Ethiopian or any other type of cuisine that you want to explore.

  8. Step 8

    Search by name of the restaurant. If you know the name of the restaurant, use that name in the search box and specify Miami, its neighborhood or any city in South Florida metropolitan area along with it.

  9. Step 9

    Search restaurants by price range. Use keywords such as cheap, inexpensive, budget, moderate, expensive, fancy, etc. to refine your search.

  10. Step 10

    Search by features you are looking for in the restaurant. Use keywords such as bar, pub, 24 hours, coffeeshop, celeb spotting, take away, celebrity owned restaurants, breakfast/brunch, live music, kid friendly, Prix-Fixe, romantic, outdoor dining, good for groups and so on.

  11. Step 11

    Search by regional and local specialties. Consider searching for restaurant specializing in Miami specialties, such as Cuban sandwiches, stone crabs and ceviche.

  • Read reviews of several restaurants online, visit their Web sites and view their online menus to make an informed decision about restaurants.
