How to Have Fun Setting Up Your weHow Profile

If, at first, it may seem daunting, if not downright terrifying – the idea of setting up an online profile, you can take comfort knowing you're not alone. Throughout the ages of history, it's made many a great man quake in his socks, for fear of strangers' eyeballs steam-rolling over his precious words. But then this lost and forlorn man found God. His name was Jesus. No, the truth is, this man had no name. No, truth is, this dude had no socks. Wait, no, this man, like every man, woman, child, and wolverine, who has found weHow, has unlocked the secret answer to their prayers! All kidding aside, setting up a profile on weHow is truly one of the most satisfying – not to mention FUNNEST – things you can do. Why? Because you can finally say all the things you’ve wanted to say – and to millions of people! You can be yourself. You can speak Franglish without shame or ridicule. You can scream from the rooftops, well, sort of -- maybe in caps. You can talk about your affection for Knomes, your penchant (and talent) for multiprocessing (i.e., simultaneously applying make-up, eating a salad, picking your nose, and talking on your cell phone -- all while cruising down the Santa Monica Freeway in the middle of a high-speed cop chase). You can share recipes -- ancient Chinese secrets for dim sum, fortune cookies and dry cleaning. You can do as I do and write useless articles that have little or no nutritional value, but may be fun to read. You can do it all! Or not. My point, and I do have one, is to just have fun and connect. There are millions of people online and weHow is a place where it's cool to be yourself, instead of just "hot." So go forth and smile (and write your weHows!).

1. Do a little navel gazing.
   
   Who are you? What do you want people to know about you? When you write an online profile, you’re starting with a clean slate. If you’ve always been known as the nerdy librarian, but are truly more of an adventurous type, then now is the time to share those times you secretly went bungee jumping from the top of the library clock tower with your pocket protector.
2. Share your favorites.
   
   What are your favorite top-10 whatevers? Whether they’re movies, magazines, dogs, designers, socks or encyclopedias, the web is so huge and vast, and with hundreds of millions of people online actively sharing, you’re bound to find like-minded peeps, many of whom would drop everything for the chance to bungee jump with you. So start sharing the *real* you, and soon you’ll be jumping for joy – but with friends.
3. Post your picture.
   
   You know that overused cliché – the one about the picture of you in that hideous snowman sweater, the one your Aunt Dorthy gave you, where you're stuffing your face with chocolate bread pudding at Grandpa Ollie's 180th birthday, the one that keeps appearing throughout your parents' house, despite your futile attempts to destroy it, yea that one. Well that picture *really* is worth a thousand words.
   
   Enough with the face, this is no time to be vain. Take those pictures – all of them – that tell the story of you, and post with some pride. We all have those pictures. And we all can relate. The more real we are with one another, the more authentic our relationships will be.
