      Take a cab to the tower.

      Walk around the outside of the tower. Take pictures and read the informational kiosks.

      Elevators are available from the ground level to the top observation deck. You can board the elevators here or on the second floor.

      Climb the stairs to the second floor. The stairs are open to the public only to this level. Here you can jump on one of the elevators without having to wait in a big line like on the first floor...hopefully.

      Three elevators go to the first and second observation decks, although usually only one or two are operating for security reasons. The elevators go up to the top about every 8 minutes.

      See Paris from the second observation deck. A gift shop and a four-star restaurant are located slightly above.

Tips & Warnings

  • All visitors including those with physical disabilities are able to go to the first and second observation decks.

  • The tip-top of the Eiffel Tower is not accessible due to security reasons.

  • Be patient, the view is worth it!

  • Be prepared to wait for the elevators, especially during high visitor seasons.

  • The very top of the Eiffel Tower may be closed, depending on poor weather conditions, so make sure you plan to visit on a day with good weather.

  • Tourists can be pushy and frustrated. Consider this if you have children.

  • Look out for pick-pockets. Thieves know this is a big tourist attraction and take advantage of it.
