How to Get a Job at FedEx

Delivery services like FedEx have become so popular, they now hire thousands of employees every year. Whether you're hoping to drive a delivery truck, take phone orders or become a manager, you'll have to adhere to a certain set of guidelines. FedEx has a reputation for hiring energetic people willing to do whatever it takes--whether it's in their job description or not.

    • 4

Have an immaculate appearance for the interview, and be free of drugs and ready to prove it through a drug test.

    • 5

Pass tests concerning the job you're applying for, including typing, spelling, map-reading and other related requirements.

Tips & Warnings

  • So many apply to FedEx each year, it may be tough to get a position. Some things to make you stand out are: working with previous companies for several years instead of bouncing from place to place, a good work record with few absences and a good relationship with previous employers.

  • Be willing to take any position with the company. Then, apply for the position you really want after you're established in the company.

  • Be willing to bend when it comes to the hours/shifts you're willing to work. You can always bid on other shifts or positions later.

  • Keep your job and earn advancements by never missing a day of work. Do whatever it takes even if it isn't in your job description and be respectful to workers and bosses.

  • You are required to wear specific uniforms when working for FedEx.

  • FedEx has a reputation for having a no-nonsense work environment where joking around and goofing off won't earn you any promotions and could cost you your job. One interview can consist of hours-long conversations including trivial and personal questions, both on the phone and in person

  • If you're called in for an interview, you could still go for months without actually being hired.
