if you have a old audio system such as,(a 90's Quasar model, or a Sony Hi-Fi system), you can connect that old system to your pc for audio sound from your pc.this setup will be easy.
a analog (red, white) audio cable with ear phone plug tip.
a pc with earphone inputs, (or outputs in the back if eqquiped).
if needed, your pc may have to have an sound manager>(Realtek HD Audio Manager, Nivida audio mixer Manager).
any audio system that is eqquiped with analog audio outputs
Step1
(shut all electronic components required in this setup)first take your audio component, and place it near your pc at your desire.but make sure where you place it, the audio analog cords will reach your pc.
Step2
take your analog audio cord and insert the head phone plug into the headphone jack located on your pc.you can insert this on any available jack on your pc, if the jacks are supported for audio only. then connect all speakers:5.1, 7.1, 9.1, 3-way speakers.
Step3
then take the other end of the audio wire, and plug in the audio analog plugs into the audio component's audio output. if the audio system has multiple named outputs, its best to put these analog plugs in the CD, or Video section, or any named outputs that is neccessary for the use of this operation**
Step4
when all components are connected, do a quick check to spot any errors in this setup.now when all electronic components are properly connected, you may connect all power sources to your electronic components and turn them all on. then all sounds the pc makes,EX:"the theme song for logging on your windows XP account", this could be useful for playing music from your pc, if your old audio system doesn't support or play your particular media/song format.(wma ,mp3, wav, acc, etc,)--This is the basic setup of how the pc should be connected to the audio system.
Tips & Warnings
this is a ideal for getting superior sound out of your audio system, if you want to have good sound for streaming online videos, you music collection, and other sounds your pc outputs to.
you can also amplify your audio system for more bass, more clear sound, because your average pc today, is:
eppuiped with sound managers, and graphic equilizers.>>>(BECAREFUL NOT TO AMPLIFIY YOUR SYSTEM MORE THAN IT CAN HANDLE, SERIOUS PROBLEMS CAN OCCUR>YOU CAN BURST YOUR SPEAKERS BY AMPLFIENG IT WITH TOO MUCH BASS FROM THE PC.YOU CAN AGAIN BURST YOUR SPEAKERS, AND DAMAGE YOUR PC WITH AMPLIFIENG IT WITH TOO MUCH VOLUME.)
DVD player broke? this is also ideal for wathcing a dvd on your pc while experiencing performance sound from your audio system.(if your pc has an Optical dvd-rom player eppuiped.Refer to Pc's Manufactred Manual for Specs, and Details.)
with the correct settings equilzer, and volume settings could enhacne your system's output sound quality.
(if you know what you're doing.)
ampliefing your audio system with too much of a high setting can damage, or burst your speakers.
also amplifieing your system with too much VOLUME will also burst your speakers.
dont ever connect speakers to your audio system while having it on with power, a shoking hazzard is possible with the speakers wires.
dont ever let the speaker wires (inside coil wire) touch the other speaker wire's.
dont take the equilizer settings as a toy on your pc to play with, while connected to a powerful audio system. (turning the bass up and down, tampering with the volume. etc.)

Step 2 mentions audio out connection to pc's headphone jack. Step 3 mentions connecting the other end to the audio out on your amplifier. That would make 2 output connections. Wouldn't the correct connection in Step 3 be to the audio in jacks (red, white) on the amplifier?
