Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  1. Step 1

Decide what kind of book or music club you would like to be a part of. There are two main options: mail-order club and a wish-list club.

  2. Step 2

Know that a mail-order club means you order a certain number of books or CDs each month at a discounted rate. They supply you either with a physical or online catalog.

  3. Step 3

Know that a wish-list club allows you to create a wish-list and then receive the materials as they become available. Each month a selection from your list is mailed to you for a monthly fee.

  4. Step 4

Once you have selected the type of club you are going to join, register with them online. Registration usually involves giving out information such as your credit card number, mailing address and phone number.

  5. Step 5

Select the books or music that you would like, based on their shopping cart interface or their mail-order catalog. You will be charged at the end of the month for your selections.

  6. Step 6

After you register, you are ready to make your first order as a member.

Tips & Warnings
  • If a book or music club has a free trial period, give it a shot to see if you like their selection and service.
  • If you are unhappy with the club after your free trial, make sure to cancel your membership. Book and music clubs make a lot of money off people who simply forget to cancel their membership after the trial period ends.
  • Beware of people selling book or music club memberships door to door. They may be running a scam.
  • If you use a credit card to pay the club, check your statement each month to verify the charges are correct.
