Things You'll Need:
- Putty knife
- Wet vacuum (optional)
- Neutral soap
- Sponge
- Paper towels
- Soft bristle brush
- Warm water
- Vacuum

Step 1
Take paper towels and remove as much of the mud as you can using one at a time by laying it on the mud then lifting up. You should avoid using a rubbing motion. You can also use a putty knife to gently lift up the mud from the carpet.

Take 1 cup of neutral soap and mix it with 2 cups of warm water. Wet a sponge in the soap and water mixture and dab the affected area. After wetting the stained area,

Use a soft bristle brush and gently scrub the area in a circular motion. After you have went over the whole area take clean papertowels and lift up the soap mixture from the carpeting.

After you have removed the soap mixture, take warm water and a clean sponge and rinse the carpet.

Continue to dip the sponge in the water and dab the stained area until water from the sponge runs clean. If you have a wet vacuum you can use it to remove the water from rinsing. If not let the carpet dry before using your vehicle.

Vacuum as much loose mud as you can to prepare the carpet for cleaning. You can use a putty knife or a butterknife to loosen any mud that is stuck to the carpet.
