A leather interior needs to be cleaned a section at a time. Decide where you want to start and finish that area before going on the next one. You will need a leather-cleaning agent, which can be bought at any major auto store. You will also need a sponge. Take the cleaning agent and put some on the sponge; work it until it makes a soapy lather. Start at the top of the area you are cleaning and wipe the area with the sponge using circular motions. Work your way from the top of the area to the bottom. Apply medium pressure.

When you reach the bottom, use a dry cloth to remove the soap. Then use a wet cloth to rinse the area you have cleaned. Squeeze excess water out of the cloth before you rinse off the leather.

Continue rinsing until you see clear water running from your cloth. Now take a bath towel and dry the leather. After drying, proceed to the next area that needs cleaning and repeat the same steps.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Since body dirt and oil are a big stain factor in leather, be aware of your skin when you are in your vehicle. If you use suntan lotion a lot, be sure to use a towel when you get back in your vehicle so that the oil does not get onto your leather. You can also use a towel when leaving the gym.
