Want to be the hit of the party? Want to have the most loyal customers of all? Want to be known as the person they ask "What do I want to drink"? This is way too easy ;)

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Humor
  • Patience
  • Internet connection
  • People
  • Ingredients (at your discretion or budget limit!)
  • Ice, ice and more ice
  • Various serving glasses
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Blender if doing blended drinks
  1. Step 1

I bartended for almost ten years. My trusty laptop and a Wireless connection made this my most invaluable tip. I used this for parties as well as actual work. My friends knew what I was doing, my customers did not! All my customers knew was that I was THE bartender to ask - "What do I want to drink today?".

  2. Step 2

Basically, providing you have a good assortment of ingredients (this was easy as I managed the bar and could set up anywhere quick) all you have to do is ask some simple questions. "What do you feel like" is not going to do the trick.

  3. Step 3

Three options, which can be mixed.
#1 : "What Color do you want?"
    And/Or combined with -
#2 : "What Flavor do you want?"
    And/Or combined with -
#3 : "What Alcohol?" with a sly wink....

  4. Step 4

Now for the trick, if you do it right they will never have a clue HOW you arrange this. Go to my trusty resource - http://www.webtender.com and do a "search". Type in Flavor, type in Alcohol...type in a Color and it will lead you to some fantastic recipes! There are so many you should have the ingredients for something there and your guest/customer will NOT forget that you just "whipped up something special....just for them". Needless to say, I had a great following ;) You might also check out http://www.drinksmixer.com/.

Tips & Warnings
  • They restructure the site often, just scan the links and find the best one, one will use what you have in your bar, one will search by flavor or alcohol...etc.
  • Do check out the rest of the site, it has some great information.
