Public bathrooms are very gross. But with a little thought, you can avoid contact with some of the nasty germs left behind (for men).

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • men's public bathroom, paper hand towels, a little thought.
  1. Step 1

Walk into and find a urinal or toilet to use.

  2. Step 2

Don't touch the door with your hands on the way in. In fact, don't touch anything if possible.

  3. Step 3

Realize that germs are everywhere. Whenever you flush the toilet, microscopic particles are dispersed all over. This includes toilet paper and the floor.

  4. Step 4

Use a barrier between your hands and all toilet flushers, stall door locks, and door handles.

  5. Step 5

When washing your hands, get the towels ready first, then use the sink and wash your hands. You can also use a small piece of paper towel to grab the dispenser and get more towels out. You should avoid touching the paper towel machine, sink knobs and soap dispensers. Everyone touches them, no one does a good job washing their hands.

  6. Step 6

Keep a paper towel with you on the way out. Don't touch the door handle or whatever cleaning you've done is completely wiped out.

Tips & Warnings
  • Follow someone in and out of the bathroom so you don't have to touch the doors.
  • Use your foot to flush the toilet on the regular toilets.
  • If you don't properly dry your hands, the water will carry the germs with you.

on 6/19/2007 Check out www.sanidoor.com. There's your solution. The public should support requirements for touch-free exits in ALL public restrooms. What do you think?
