Step 1
Play right away. Mitsuhide is one of the first characters available for play. You don’t need to unlock him.
-
Step 2
Cater to his strengths. Mitsuhide is at his best when he can cut through mobs straight up. He does not have a lot of area attack skills. Increase his reach and rage skills as much as possible to give him the longest, hardest strikes.
-
Step 3
Make him tougher. Since his defense is already naturally high, making it even higher makes Mitsuhide unbeatable. Upgrade his drive, potence, mastery and parry skills.
-
Step 4
Don’t let them touch him. Not only does this serve well in combat, it can be aided by upgrading the fitness, block and resilience skills. This will again help to make Mitsuhide a defensive monster.
-
Step 5
Don’t let him take on too much. Mitsuhide is all about balance. He is not a powerhouse like Keiji, Ranmaru or Goemon but he is meant to survive most occasions intact. Make sure you are well prepared and use the right mix of strategy and power to overcome opponents.
-
Step 6
Consider using a horse. While Mitsuhide is not as slow as Keiji or Goemon, he is by no means as fast as Hanzo or Kunoichi. In order to complete his mission objectives in a timely fashion, it may be necessary to bring a horse. As always, the Matsukaze is the best.
-
Step 7
Play his story mode. Not only does this give you background on Mitsuhide, it also gives your character a good grounding and lots of experience, allowing you to enter harder battles and survive. It is also necessary before attempting to attain his fifth level weapon.
-
Step 8
Be careful charging. When using his first charge attack, be aware that Mitsuhide takes a moment to charge up before he rushes into the fray slashing left and right. Do not attempt to use this move in large crowds. It leaves you vulnerable to enemy attack for far too long. Use this move to charge into crowds, instead of around them or out of them.
-
Step 9
Enjoy. Mitsuhide Akechi is not only a fearsome warrior, he is also one of the most influential people of the era--killing a guy like Nobunaga tends to make one famous--and has a very interesting story to tell. Have fun with him.
