Things You'll Need:
- warm clothes
- helmet
-
Step 1
Dress appropriately for the weather. Dress your child in layers. Avoid cotton. Make sure your child finds her clothing comfortable. If a child thinks her extra sweater is itchy, she may choose not to wear it even if she is cold.
-
Step 2
Buy waterproof gloves or mittens. Be sure the gloves are easy to take off and provide sufficient coverage to stop snow from getting in.
-
Step 3
Attach gloves or mittens to the jacket. You can buy clips at a sports shop.
-
Step 4
Make sure to give your child a good pair of ski socks. Do not give your child two pairs of thick socks to wear. Doing this could cause blisters and other discomfort.
-
Step 5
Give your child a helmet.
-
Step 6
Make sure your child has waterproof snow pants and a waterproof jacket. Buy a longer jacket to keep the snow out.
-
Step 7
Be sure to arrive early. Often if you are late, your child is unable to join the class.
