How to replace a Mitsubishi engine

Mitsubishi makes great cars, but their engines have a tendency to break down around 150K miles. This weHow tells you how to go about replacing one

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • car mechanic
  • yellow pages
  • Mitsubishi engine

Step1
find a reputable mechanic in your area. Do not go to the dealer - they are too expensive. Make sure the mechanic has experience working with Mitsubishis
Step2
Tell the mechanic you want a "new-used" Mitsubishi engine that matches your car model
Step3
It is important that you get an engine from Japan. In Japan, they rarely drive cars more than 3-4 years, so any engine coming from Japan rarely has more than 40-50K miles on it
Step4
Don't try to replace the engine yourself! Pay the mechanic - they have more experience, better tools, etc. You will end up with an almost new car that is good for another 100K miles!

on 4/14/2008 Dealer cost per hour is cheaper than most if not all aftermarket shops my dealer charges 95.99per hour most other if not all shops charge 110.00 to 115per hour and paying the extra if it comes down to it means they use the right equipment and have all the correct tool to work on that vehicle meaning its done right the first time rather than the 2nd or 3rd. just my 2 cents.
