Step 1
Be careful about what you wear. Do not show up at the mountain wearing dads old one piece. If you can’t afford another jacket for the holidays, jackets and snow pants can frequently be rented from ski shops.
-
Step 2
Be careful about your equipment. Do not borrow mom’s old straight skis. Get shaped skis. Shaped skis have completely replaced straight skis.
-
Step 3
If it is your first time, go with someone with experience. Bring a good friend or take a lesson from an instructor. There is nothing worse than trying to learn to stop on skis while avoiding obstacles such as kids and trees on the hill.
-
Step 4
Do not stick your rear end out for any reason.
-
Step 5
Try not to cross your ski tips. This will cause you to fall and makes it hard to get up.
-
Step 6
Do not tuck your pants into your boots. This looks very funny and usually hurts by the end of the day.
