When launching Webaroo, if your computer is protected by firewall protection (either McAfee Firewall Protection or Windows firewall protection), then this article will show you how you can make Webaroo communicate through the firewall protection.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep your desktop or laptop connected to the Internet and double click on the Webaroo icon to launch the program.

  2. Step 2

If your system is protected by a firewall such as McAfee Firewall Protection, then you will get a warning window from McAfee saying the following: The program Webaroo is requesting access to the Internet. Do you want to allow it? Then, it will give you the path to where the Webaroo client executable is located on your system.

  3. Step 3

Select "I want to grant access."

  4. Step 4

If your computer is protected by Windows Firewall, a Windows Security Alert comes up saying that to help protect your computer, Windows Firewall has blocked some features of the Webaroo client program . You can choose any of three options based on what you wish to do: Keep Blocking, Unblock (only if you know why the program is asking you to accept connections to your computer), and Ask me later. If you choose to unblock the program, Windows Firewall creates as exception for the Webaroo client and allows it to communicate through the firewall.

  5. Step 5

Once you grant access to the Webaroo client program, the Webaroo product gets launched on your Internet Explorer and you see the Webaroo window appear with the following four icons in it: Search, Content, Preferences, and Help.

  6. Step 6

To begin using Webaroo, you need to first add Web packs or Web sites to your library. Click on the "Content" icon within Webaroo to add Web packs and Web sites to your Webaroo library.
