Browse a Web site without being connected to the Internet? Webaroo makes it possible! Webaroo is a software product that lets you download Web packs and Web sites onto your laptop or desktop or mobile devices or handheld devices such as Smart phone or PDA, Windows Pocket PC 2003 SE or Windows Mobile 5.0. You can then work on those Web packs or Web sites anytime or anywhere WITHOUT being connected to the Internet. When you next connect your computer to the Internet (or when you connect your mobile devices to your desktop or laptop and then connect to the Internet), your downloaded Web packs or Web pages are automatically updated (if you choose the "Automatic Update option in Webaroo). Or, if you choose the "Manual Update" option in Webaroo, then the information gets updated whenever you choose to manually update the Web pack or Web site you downloaded. These instructions show you how to download and install the Webaroo product using the Internet. The Webaroo product and services are currently available free of charge and are in Beta stage of development as of today (October 19, 2006).

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Checking The System Requirements Of Your Laptop or Desktop

Step1
Make sure your desktop or laptop meets the following system requirements:
Windows XP Service Pack 1+ or Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
-1 GHz+ Processor
-512 MB RAM (or 1 GB RAM if you want to download large Web packs)
-Web browser--Internet Explorer 6.0
-Microsoft.NET 1.1 Framework
-Broadband Internet connection to download Web and update content
Step2
Check if you already have Microsoft.NET 1.1 Framework by doing the following:
-Go to Control Panel.
-Click on Add/Remove Programs.
-Check to see if Microsoft.NET 1.1 Framework is among the list of programs you have. If you do not have Microsoft.NET 1.1 Framework in your list of programs, you can download it at the time of installing your Webaroo product.

Downloading and Installing Webaroo

Step1
Download the Webaroo executable from the Webaroo Web site (see below in the Resources section for a link to the site).
Step2
Click on the Webaroo setup in your Programs folder.
Step3
Accept the end-user license agreement (EULA) by clicking "I agree" and follow the steps below to proceed with the installation of the Webaroo product.
Step4
Click "Yes" on the next window that appears asking you if you are okay with installing the Webaroo product at C:\Program folders\Webaroo.
Step5
Click Next and a Preferences window comes up with these two choices already selected with a checkmark next to them:
-Launch Webaroo after installation. You can leave this check marked if you want to install Webaroo and launch Webaroo immediately after the installation. If you wish to install Webaroo but want to launch Webaroo at a later time, then deselect the check mark that is next to "Launch Webaroo after installation."
-Add Desktop shortcut.
Step6
Click "Next" and another Webaroo window appears, "Installation successful," showing that your Webaroo installation is complete.
Step7
Click "Finish" to exit the Installation wizard. You will now find on your desktop, on your system tray, as well as on your browser, an orange, kangaroo-shaped Webaroo icon.
