Shredded blankets are the new must have homemade blanket for this fall. They are usually made from fleece and are very cute and cozy. The blankets look difficult to make but are quite easy. With some fleece and scissors you will be on your way to making your own shredded blanket in no time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Decide how big you want your blanket. Cut two pieces of fleece or any other fabric to the same size. Lay them down on a clean flat surface, one on top of the other. You can pin them together to keep them from moving if you wish. Take scissors and make four inch cuts starting from the outside of the fabric and going towards the inside of the fabric every two inches. Continue this process until the whole outside edge of the fabric has been cut.

  2. Step 2

Take one shredded piece from the top and take the bottom piece and tie it together. Do not tie it into a bow, just tie the two together. Tying the two together twice will help it stay together. Continue this process around the whole blanket and you will have your shredded blanket.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you want longer strips of shredded fabric cut the strips a little longer. Also the more you tie the pieces together the tighter it will stay together.
  • Before washing make sure all the shredded pieces are tied together tightly. If not, the blanket can come apart during washing.
