How To Dispute Credit Report Errors

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First you need your credit report. You can obtain one online or by calling one of the big three credit reporting agencies, Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion. I prefer Experian.

  2. Step 2

Next you need to review the credit report and compare it to your records. Find the mistakes or errors.

  3. Step 3

Once you have found the errors you need to dispute you need to contact the credit reporting agency and file the dispute. You can do this online or by written letter. You will find the form or the address online.
