How to Beat Fallout 2 in Under 30 Minutes

It's tricky, but it can be done! If you want to make the rest of the game REALLY easy and don’t care about spoiling the ending, read on!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

1. Make a character with 7+ Intelligence, 6+ Agility and Perception, 4+ Strength, and tag Speech and Steal. Set everything else as you wish.
2. Run through the Temple of Trials and talk Cameron out of fighting, then leave Arroyo and head East a little ways, then straight south. Stop at every city and save in case you get attacked and can’t run away.
3. Once you hit the bottom of the map, head west until you hit San Francisco.
4. When you hit San Francisco, you will need to acquire: 17 Super Stimpacks (can be stolen off Dr. Fung), 2 Psycho and a suit of Power Armor. Steal everything you can from the shop and town guards. You should be able to steal several G-11s and lots of ammo.
5. Sell stolen goods to Red 888 and Flying Dragon 8 shop owners for CASH, buy goods with cash, save, steal cash off shop owners. Reload if they turn hostile.
6. Continue buying goods with stolen cash until necessary goods have been accumulated.
7. Go see Ken Lee in the Shi Temple (East San Francisco.) Use 10 Super Stimpacks on Ken Lee, then sleep until he dies.
8. Leave and go to the Hubologist Base (Northeast San Francisco) and find AHS-9. Take 2 Psycho (reload if you get addicted) and talk to him. Sleep until effects wear off, then head to the tanker.
9. Head to the bridge (on right side), set the tanker to go and enjoy the cinematic.
10. Once you arrive, take the stairs to the detention area.
11. Traverse the maze (the solution is 2, 1, 2, 3, 3, 8, 9 if you look at the rooms in a square pattern with numbers 1-9 arranged left to right, top to bottom.)
12. Go into the room on the right for the GECK. You may want to grab the Advanced Power Armor Mk. 2 from the room on the left, since this is the only place in the game you'll find it.
13. Go down the stairs, find the President and use 7 Super Stimpacks on him to kill him. Take his access key.
14. Go to the stairs at the top of the map, head down.
15. Go to the bottom, find the scientist standing next to a power armored soldier, and talk him into shutting the reactor down. Run back up the stairs and down to the bottom of the screen, where an emergency door has opened up.
16. Climb the stairs and exit the barracks to the left.
17. Talk to Sgt. Granite and get him to help you fight Horrigan (you may have to talk to him twice.)
18. Head through the doors, stick to the bottom of the room until you find the computer console.
19. Use the Presidential access key on the console and watch Horrigan get scrapped. Walk out the door to freedom and a series of cinematics! Congratulations, you did it!

• Go to New Reno and find Father Tully in the chapel when you're done. He has a gift for you. Use it to your heart’s content!
