• newspaper

1. Work nutrients into your soil as needed.

2. Set in your bedding plants.

3. Wet your newspapers and place them around your plantings overlapping them as you go.

4. Cover them with soil or mulch and forget about the weeds. Weeds will grow through gardening plastic, but they will not grow through the wet newspapers.

• Prepare beds for flowers or vegetable plants after all danger of frost or cold weather has past.
