Not all perennial bulbs are winter-hardy throughout the country. Some bulbs must be removed from their planting area and stored until the Spring.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • mesh bags
  • gardening tools
  1. Step 1

Dig up the bulbs, clean and dry them.

  2. Step 2

Trim off all growth from the tops.

  3. Step 3

Place them in a mesh bag so there are plenty of air spaces between them.

  4. Step 4

Store in a dark cool place so it just above freezing. In the spring they will be ready for replanting.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to store the mesh bags inside of a sealed container to prevent the bulbs from being varmint food.
  • Do not stack bags of bulbs on top of each other.
