How to Score an Invite to LA’s Magic Castle

The Magic Castle in Hollywood, Calilfornia has much to recommend. It’s an experience everyone should have at least once. Some of the world’s greatest magicians have performed there, and continue to perform there, every night at the Castle for years, to the delight of the assembled crowd. But there’s a catch – you can only get in if you’ve been invited by a magician. Don’t know any connected magicians? Here’s a few tips to get you in the door.

1. Try visiting area magic shops to see if they can connect you. For example, Magicopolis in Santa Monica might be a good place to meet magicians that can get you in.

2. Often people involved in the entertainment business receive invitations as part of wrap parties. If you have a friend in LA but they’re not in the entertainment business, don’t worry – they almost certainly know someone who is. Ask around – sooner or later, you’ll meet with a successful outcome.

3. If all else fails, break out the Yellow Pages or do an internet search for magicians in the Los Angeles area. A magician never reveals his secrets, but if you call around, you’ll be sure to meet one eventually who will help you get admitted.

4. As a last resort, you could actually pay to become a member. Membership applications are available at the Magic Castle's website. It's generally worth the expense, but for a one-time visitor, or for visitors from out of town, it may not be worth it.

5. Once you’ve got your invite, make sure you make a reservation for dinner and a night of great entertainment at the Magic Castle in Hollywood.

• Make sure you observe the dress code – for gents, a sports jacket and collared shirt, for the ladies, a skirt or dress.

on 12/3/2008 go to the Magic Castle website and find the schedule of magicians that will appear. Click on the magicians that are underlined...this will take you to their website....email any of the magicians from their website asking for an invitation.

Or---simply stay the night at the Magic Castle Hotel and the Hotel will give you an invitation just for staying there

Or----just spend the night at the Magic Castle Hotel....and they will provide an invitation to the Castle for you and your date
