How to enable the 30 second skip feature on your Tivo

One of the hidden features on a Tivo is the ability to enable the advance button to skip ahead 30 seconds at a time. This will allow you to easily skip commercials and not miss any part of your favorite shows.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• Tivo
• Tivo Remote Control

1. Begin playing a show that you have previously recorded.
2. While the show is playing press: Select -- Play -- Select -- 3 -- 0 -- Select
3. You should hear the Tivo "bongs" at this time. If you do not hear the "bongs" repeat the above steps.
4. Play a recorded show and test the advance button to confirm it skips ahead 30 seconds.

Tips & Warnings

• To turn off this feature repeat the steps above
• If your Tivo is restarted you will need to reprogram the remote.
