Nowaday’s many people are setting up wireless networks at home or at the office. It is pretty simple to do yourself. Just follow the steps below.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Wireless network router.
  • Computer with a working wireless card and wired RJ-45 network already installed.
  • Cat5 cable

Step1
Plug in the wireless router and read any and all instructions that came with it.
Step2
Connect your CAT5 cable to the router and to your compute with the RJ-45 conection.
Step3
Log in to the routers configuration screen. In most cases you will open a web browser and put something like the following in the address field, http://192.168.0.1 . Please refer to the users manual to confirm the IP address of your router.
Step4
Pocket PC Wi-Fi Once you have followed the instruction in the router users manual, you can start the wireless network detection on the computer that you are trying to network wirelessly.

Tips & Warnings

  • Follow all steps in the manuals provided with the router as well as the instructions for the installed wireless card in the computer.
  • Skipping steps or failing to read the users manuals will only cause you problems.
