Use your SDA as modem

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • T-Mobile SDA phone
  • USB modem driver for SDA
  • USB cable connection to your mobile phone
  1. Step 1

    Open your phone menu, go to Accessories - Modem Link

  2. Step 2

    Choose connection to USB, make sure the access point name is wap.voicestream.com

  3. Step 3

    Click on Activate to activate your phone as a modem

  4. Step 4

    Connect your USB cable to your phone and your computer

  5. Step 5

    Your phone will detect your phone as a modem, install the appropriate driver contained in the CD that came with your SDA phone

  6. Step 6

    Set modem properties to not wait for the tone, and set this in the extra command tab: AT+CGDONT=1,"IP","wap.voicestream.com",""

  7. Step 7

    Leave the username and password blank, set the number to dial to *99#

  8. Step 8

    Click on connect and you should be connected through Internet

Tips & Warnings
  • You can get speed up to 185 KBPS Down and 95 KBPS Up which is much better than dialup depend on your location
  • This guide is when you have T-Zones plan, you can skip step 6 if you use Total Internet Plan
  • Make sure you have the right driver installed to your computer, use the original CD that came with your phone
  • Modem properties can only be edited when your phone is connected to your computer
