How to Prevent Pop-ups in Windows XP
Pop-up windows that are used for advertising can be very annoying. But you can limit annoying pop-ups from appearing in Windows XP when browsing the Internet.

Launch Internet Explorer.

From the "Tools" menu, select "Pop-up Blocker" and click "Turn on Pop-Up Blocker." The Pop-Up Blocker is now enabled.

If you want to enable pop-ups from specific websites, then you need to add them to your pop-up enabled sites list. To do so, go to the "Tools" menu and select "Pop-Up Blocker" and "Pop-Up Blocker Settings."

Launch Firefox.

From the "Tools" menu, select "Options." The Options dialog appears.

Click the "Content" icon.

Check the box next to "Block pop-up windows." Click "OK." Pop-ups are subsequently blocked.
