How to Resize Any Image On The Fly

If you are like me and you have a nice digital camera that takes amazing photos, but emailing them to friends takes forever, you will like this weHow.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet connection
  • Digital Images (png, bmp, gif, jpg)
  • Windows XP

Step1
First step is to download Microsoft's Image resizing powertoy here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

it is on the right side of the page, called "Image Resizer"
Step2
Save that file to your desktop and then double click it to install.
Step3
Once you have install the Image Resizer, go to My Computer and find the images that you want to resize
Step4
Highlight the images, right click and select Resize Pictures.
Step5
A window should popup showing you different sizes. Select the size you want or enter a custom size.
Step6
Click OK and you will see that there are new images in that directory. These are your resized images.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are emailing photos, a good size to resize you images to is 800x600
