Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- A house.
- Food.
- Place for people to sit or stand comfortably.
- Something (anything) for people to do.
- Lots of friends.
- Alcohol (optional)
Step1
Plan when the party will be. Pick a date enough in advance for people to make arrangements to come. Also make sure it's a day that people will have available (i.e. don't throw a big party on Christmas).
Step2
Decide who you want to invite. Make sure to pick enough people who are not shy, so the party won't be quiet and boring.
Step3
Invite maybe one or two wild crazy people, if desired.
Step4
Make sure you don't invite people who don't get along with each other.
Step5
Don't invite way more guys than girls.
Step6
While everybody is over, make sure all the guests have plenty to eat and drink.
Step7
Regularly walk around and check on everybody to see if anybody looks left out. If they are, try to get them involved in conversation, making out, whatever.
Step8
While you are walking around, look for people breaking your stuff. Don't let the party get so wild that people are breaking your crap.
Step9
Next time, have the party at someone else's house.

on 1/1/2007 There's a lot to the art of holding a party. Depending of course on what you are aiming for. If you are aiming for a party where people tell you afterwards that it was amazing, here's how: Do everything the guid says. Second, party proof your house, making sure anything slightly breakable or in the way is moved to a hidden or blocked off "room" designated to hold all the breakable stuff. Once that is done, get access to a speaker system that can go LOUD, but of course not to the point where neighbours are going to complain. For the music, it is crucial to get fast upbeat rock/dance/techno stuff going on, maybe save for one or two slow dance songs, otherwise leave the slow ones out. For invitations, quality is much more important than quantity. Find people that are rowdy or exciting, and that you know will contribute to make an awesome party. Try to have different sections of the party for different moods. Have a raging dance floor if you have room, where the music will be, have a smaller, "chill rooms" with couches and other things for more mellow people to hang out. Also, designate a spot where people are to smoke, so that you're house isn't full of smoke afterwards. Finally, be very aware during the party, and constantly be in control of who and who you aren't letting in. It is often helpful to have a couple sober people helping you out if you are holding a particularly large party.
