Easy step by step directions for preparing the Okra Fry.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Okra(Lady Fingers) 3/4 pound
  • Onions 1/3 large
  • Garlic 3 cloves
  • Chili Powder (Red Chili Powder) 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric (Haldi powder) 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable Oil 5 tablespoons
  • Cumin Seeds (Cumin, Jeera) 1/4 teaspoon

Step1
Crush garlic cloves and finely chop onion.
Step2
Chop okra into 1/4 inch pieces.
Step3
Heat oil in a non-stick skillet, add finely chopped onion and fry until light brown.
Step4
Then add garlic and fry for a minute. Now add chopped okra and sliced green chili. Fry on high heat for five minutes and then add salt and turmeric.
Step5
Lower heat to medium-low, then sprinkle red chili powder and remove from heat.
