You can ship anything that will fit in the box to anywhere in the United States regardless of weight! You could ship lead weights and it would cost the same as sending feathers!

Schedule a pick up (for free!) or just drop them off at the your local Post Office. Paying will be easy, you already know how much shipping is :)

So, if you sell things on eBay or otherwise do a lot of mailing and have been paying OfficeMax for envelopes and boxes... don't. Order this stuff, it's free and usually even better!

Tips & Warnings
Don't forget to write down the address before you leave for the post office.
USPS is funded by its own revenue from selling postage so your tax dollars are not involved here.
Do be aware that these boxes are meant for the USPS service marked on them, and any usage other than that is unlawful.
The Flat Rate for shipping with your the free boxes is $8.95. It's great if you ship heavier items but if you ship light, you're going to pay $2-4 more than you would if you were buying your own boxes

The boxes are not free. They incorporate the cost into the total. If you are shipping clothing or a light item. It is cheaper to find your own box. The only advantages are being able to ship small heavy items and to know the total cost before you ship the item.

I like the conveniece of using flat rate boxes.

I use freezer wrapping paper to mail, blankets , clothing and anything using fabric. Of course I wouldn't use it for breakable item.

usps will cheat u every chance they get. even if you try to reuse a box and save resources they will screw you.
