How to plant a tree

The easiest way to ensure your plant will survive the transition from the pot to the soil

Things You'll Need:

• Plant
• Mattock
• Spade
• Soil
• Water

1. Before purchasing the plant, ensure that it is appropriate to the area (both soil and weather conditions)

2. Find out the right time of the year to plant it

3. Using the mattock dig a hole that is twice the width and depth of the plant

4. Using some of the soil you dag out make a little pile in the hole and position the plant so that it is level with the ground.

5. Backfill the remaining soil and make sure that you pad it down firmly

6. Water your plant regularly while it is adjusting its new environment

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure that when you put the soil back in the hole, you pat it down firmly so that there are no air pockets
