The easiest way to ensure your plant will survive the transition from the pot to the soil

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plant
  • Mattock
  • Spade
  • Soil
  • Water
  1. Step 1

    Before purchasing the plant, ensure that it is appropriate to the area (both soil and weather conditions)

  2. Step 2

    Find out the right time of the year to plant it

  3. Step 3

    Using the mattock dig a hole that is twice the width and depth of the plant

  4. Step 4

    Using some of the soil you dag out make a little pile in the hole and position the plant so that it is level with the ground.

  5. Step 5

    Backfill the remaining soil and make sure that you pad it down firmly

  6. Step 6

    Water your plant regularly while it is adjusting its new environment

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that when you put the soil back in the hole, you pat it down firmly so that there are no air pockets
