How to Upgrade Your Car Interior

Driving a Lotus elise and looking to change your car interior and give it a customized and personal look. Try switching out your stock interior and adding custom leather center console.

Things You’ll Need:

• Order trim from local dealer or Lotus trim shop

1. unscrew shift ball, screws and remove old center console
2. To re-install new center counsole, start by flipping the shift boot inside out. Then slide it down the shifter shaft
3. Make sure the e-brake is high enough for the console to pass through it.
4. re-installing the two screws up front that fasten the console to the shifter frame. It may be very difficult to get them align to the hole. The console will be secure enough without them but they are not extra parts.If I were to do it again, I will not punch the holes in the leather first. Another option is to mark the hole location with tape and if after the installation, it seems secure enough then its done. If not, just punch the holes in the leather and insert the screws.

Tips & Warnings

• Note: Also be very careful not to drop the screw retainers. Almost all the screws have them and they come off very easily! Be very careful not to drop any screws while removing them! Especially the set screws for the shift knob and e-brake handle! If you do, it might take you more time to retrieve it than the whole job would take. Keep all the screws in a little plastic bag once you get them out.
