How to Polish your Shoes

Regular shoe polishing will keep your shoes looking new and shiny. Women really like a guy with nice looking shoes. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Dress shoes (black or brown)
  • Shoe polish
  • Shoe polish applicator sponges or brushes
  • Large shoe polish brush
  • Buffing cloth

Instructions

    • 1

      Brush your shoes clean with the large shoe polish brush.

    • 2

      Apply shoe polish evenly to all leather surfaces of the shoe with the polish applicator sponge or brush. Make sure to use the right color!

      Let it set for a minute.

    • 4

      Brush the shoe off again. Some people prefer to use a different large brush.

    • 5

      Buff the shoe to a shine with the buffing cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • It may be easier to shine your shoes while you are wearing them, so they don't move around. Just be careful about getting polish on your socks.

  • Shoe polish can stain all sorts of things, be careful!

  • Don't polish your shoes on your nice carpet.
