Things You'll Need:
- Plant
- Top soil
- Shovel
- Gardening gloves (optional)
- Hose or Watering can
-
Step 1
Remove plant from container in which you bought it and break up root ball on the outer edges. The goal is to loosen up roots.
-
Step 2
Next select the desired location where you would like your plant to be and begin digging hole. The whole should be as deep as the rootball and twice as wide. Pile all of the dirt in one spot next to the whole as you will need it later.
-
Step 3
Place you plant in the whole so it is level and begin to add soil back to stabilize it. Add topsoil to this mix to give you plant rich soil.
-
Step 4
Add remaining soil/topsoil mix to the top of the rootball of your plant. Pack soil with hands so plant is firmly in place.
-
Step 5
Use watering can or hose and water you new plant well. Try to water for the next few days daily!

on 10/13/2008 I think it's a 5 star. People are going to search it. Good idea for an article.

on 2/27/2008 Tie the main shoot of the plant with a good twine to a wooden stake well driven into the soil near the plant to exculde damages to the roots by strong winds.
