How to bait an anchovy

Anchovies are excellent bait fish. Securing them on your hook before you cast is important to make sure you are maximizing your chances of catching fish.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Anchovies, sharp knife, cutting board, standard fishing hook

1. Grab the anchovy firmly in your right hand.

2. With your left hand slide the hook into one of the anchovy eyes and out the other.

3. Check to ensure that the hook barb is all the way thru the second eye and clear of the fish. This will maximize your chances of hooking a fish after you cast.

4. Cast and enjoy being on the water.

Tips & Warnings

• Always use fresh anchovies. Keep the fish alive in water until you intend to bait them.
• Always be careful not to cut yourself with the hook or the knife.
