How to Find and Use Hidden Emoticons in Yahoo! Messenger

Yahoo! Messenger is a great application to keep in touch with friends and colleagues. There are many ways to personalize Yahoo! Messenger, ranging from avatars to unique plug-ins. Using emoticons in your conversations is a great way to express emotion. While there are many cool emoticons built into the instant message window, there are a set of hidden emoticons that will really add life to your conversations.

• Computer
• Internet connection
• Yahoo! Messenger

1. Go to http://messenger.yahoo.com/features/hiddenemoticons to see a list of hidden emoticons. You'll find more than 35 animated emoticons that will add a little life to your future instant message conversations.

2. Find the emoticons that you like the best and memorize the keyboard shortcuts for them. The keyboard shortcuts are usually 3 to 5 characters are pretty easy to memorize.

3. Send hidden emoticons to your friends by typing the keyboard shortcuts directly into an instant message. Let them add that extra little feeling to your normally emotionless text.

Tips & Warnings

• While all of the hidden emoticons are worthy of mention, I prefer "money eyes", "feeling beat up", and "chatterbox".
