Make Halloween Party Invitations

For this year's Halloween party invitations, go beyond craft paper and colored markers to create a few masterpieces even Hallmark will be talking about.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Crayons
  • Mailing tubes
  • Cardstock
  • Pennies or etching tools
  • White air-dry Crayola Model Magic clay
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Paper for invitation
  • Envelopes
  • Foam paintbrush

    Etched Invitations

  1. Step 1

Supplies: Cardstock, crayons, black acrylic paint, a foam paintbrush, pennies or etching tools, and envelopes.

  2. Step 2

Print or write the party details on one side of the cardstock.

  3. Step 3

Use crayons to completely cover the flip side of the card stock

  4. Step 4

Use black acrylic paint and a foam paint brush to paint over the crayon. Let dry.

  5. Step 5

Use a penny, a straightened paper clip, wooden skewer, or other ethcing tool to scratch a scary message, drawing, or more party details into the paint. The crayon color underneath will show through where you have painted.

  6. Bag of Bones

  7. Step 1

Supplies: White air-dry clay (we suggest Crayola Model Magic), mailing tube, paper and pens or printer.

  8. Step 2

Print the party details onto paper, white or Halloween themed: "Get your bones to our place for a Halloween Party."

  9. Step 3

Form the clay into small bones and skulls. (For bone ideas, search the Web; see Resources below.) Let harden and dry.

  10. Step 4

Address the outside of the mailing tube and load in the bones and party details.
