This recipe was given to me by a friend and its super easy and delicious. It makes great cupcakes too.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 box of white cake mix
  • Creme de Menthe
  • Chocolate Frosting
  • Cool Whip
  1. Step 1

Make cake mix according to directions on box EXCEPT omit 1/4 cup of water and add 1/4 cup of the creme de menthe. Bake the cake as directed on the box.

  2. Step 2

Once cake is cool, frost with your choice of chocolate frosting.

  3. Step 3

Mix 2 tablespoons (or more) of Creme de Menthe with the Cool Whip and put on top of the chocolate frosting.

  4. Step 4

    Voila! A chocolate mint cake!

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure the cake is completely cooled before begining to frost.
  • Add the Cool Whip Layer immediately before serving. The rest of it can be made ahead of time.
  • While most of the alcohol cooks out of the cake, the Cool Whip contains it. You might want to leave the Cool Whip plain or simply omit this step if you are serving it to younger guests.
