How to make Beef Stroganoff

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 1/2 pounds beef tenderloin or sirloin
  • 6 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 3/4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Egg noodles
  1. Step 1

    Cut meat across the grain into 1/4-inch strips about 1 1/2-inches long

  2. Step 2

    Heat butter in large skillet. Add onions and cook until tender; remove and set aside. Add remaining better to skillet. Add half the meat and lightly brown; remove and repeat with remaining meat. Return all the meat to skillet, but so not drain off fat.

  3. Step 3

    Add onions and flour to skillet; stir to mix. Slowly add the broth , stirring until smooth. Cook until thickened, stirring occasionally.

  4. Step 4

    Reduce heat. Add sour cream and heat through, but do not boil or make curdle. Serve over rice or noodles.
