Nothing beats a great peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie! This one was passed down within my family. Now you can use it for yours.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 c. softened margarine - 2 cubs at room temp or warmer
  • 1 c. chunky peanut butter
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda - dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 3/4 c. lose flour (do not pack or 'shake down')
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • mixing bowl
  • cookie sheet(s)
  • fork
  • paper towels
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 375.

  2. Step 2

Mix margarine, peanut butter, white sugar, brown sugar, & baking soda mixture in a bowl

  3. Step 3

    Stir in flour.

  4. Step 4

    Add in chocolate chips.

  5. Step 5

Using your hands, roll cookie dough into small balls - tablespoon size

  6. Step 6

Place ball on greased cookie sheet

  7. Step 7

Mark each ball with a fork by pressing down with the tongs of the fork 2 times - 1 in one direction then again at a 90 degree opposite - making a cris-cross pattern.

  8. Step 8

Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.

  9. Step 9

Remove from cookie sheet & cool on paper towels.

Tips & Warnings
  • Cookie should only be brown on the bottom and around the edges to remain soft.
  • You can substitute creamy peanut butter if you prefer
  • If you wish, you can also add other nuts (finely chopped) of your choice.
  • Be aware of your possible food allergies.
