Fudge is a delight for almost anyone. Great as a gift idea for the holiday season or anytime.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 cube or butter or margarine
  • 4 cups of white sugar
  • 12oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 pint marshmellow creme
  • 1 cup chopped nuts - walnuts work best - optional
  • Sauce pan
  • greased pan or cookie sheet
  • small bowl of cool water
  1. Step 1

Place milk, margarine, and sugar in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil for 5 min - stirring constantly.

  2. Step 2

You are now at the "soft ball" stage:
In a small bowl of cool water (not cold), drop a small amount of the candy. Using your finger, press the candy together. If it holds its shape, so that you can pick it up without falling apart, it is 'soft ball' and you can continue.

  3. Step 3

    Remove from heat.

  4. Step 4

    Fold in remaining ingredients.

  5. Step 5

    Pour mixture into greased pan.

  6. Step 6

    Cool and cut into squares.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you wish to make some with nuts and some without, use two smaller pans and pour half into one, then add nuts to the mix and place it in the second pan for cooling
  • The size of the cooling pan you use will determine the thickness and cooling time of your fudge. Any size or shape will work.
  • Be aware of possible food allergies.
