Add a few scoops of vanilla ice cream to the steel canister. Fill it up about 3/4th of the way.
Step2
Add a 1/2 cup of milk. Not too much or your shake will be runny.
Step3
then add a 3 – 4 tablespoons of chocolate syrup. If you don't know what a tablespoon is then just squeeze the bottle for a couple of second over the canister.
Step4
Secure the canister in the skake maker and turn the dial to low.
Step5
Let it go for a while until you achieve the desired consistency. For a nice thick shake just wait about a minute.
Step6
Pour in a classic ice cream glass.
Step7
And pour...
Step8
And pour.
Step9
Finally add a bendy straw.
Tips & Warnings
Make enough for two.
Practice. Perfecting the art of shake making takes time.

As a former professional milkshake maker (4 glorious years working the ice cream counter at a Dari King), I highly recommend using chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla. Blue Bell's Dutch Chocolate ice cream makes a rich, rich shake.

on 11/21/2007 This is technically a "black and white." A chocolate shake is made with chocolate ice cream as mentioned by Melody.
