How to Peel a Kiwi Fruit

Although it is perfectly tasty eaten peel and all, most people like to remove the kiwi's furry skin before adding it to fruit salads and other dishes. This can be a challenge—unless you know one simple trick.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Slice about 1/4 inch from each end of the fruit.
Step2
Gently press a thin-lipped teaspoon in between the skin and the flesh of the fruit.
Step3
Letting the kiwi rest in the palm of your hand, carefully rotate the spoon around the fruit, loosening the skin.
Step4
Slip the skin off in one piece.
Step5
Slice or dice the fruit as desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you've never eaten a kiwi with the skin on, try it. You'll find it's not much different from eating a fuzzy peach.
