How to Beat Writer's Block
Writing is difficult. If you intend to write -- anything, really -- you're bound to slip on the creative block from time to time. Here's a quick list of tips to help you embrace your inner scribe and get back on your feet, so to speak.

1
Write what you know.
Sure, it's cliché, if not obtuse. "I know how to pump gas," you're thinking. "Who wants to read about that?" I'm not suggesting you wax poetic on all things petroleum. Think about the things that make you YOU. Write about what makes you happy, the things you love to do - and the ink will rarely - if ever - go dry. -
2
Write like you talk.
Be yourself. Write as if you're talking to a friend. You're not Proust -- no one expects you to be. -

3
Less is more.
In the interest of being as clear as possible (and keeping your reader engaged), once you've finished your masterpiece, cut the words may sound redundant. The more words you have, the easier it is for someone to get bored (i.e., fall into the reading void). -
4
Relax.
Anxiety is creativity's kryptonite. Writing should be enjoyable -- and fun! Stress stifles, especially when the worry concerns the words you think you should be writing. Take a deep breathe. Relax!
