Play A Learning Game With Your 6 Month Old Baby

Playing with your six month old is like watching a magic show. The delight and surprise on a baby's face when they recognize an object is of pure delight. The world is brand new and exciting and it is the simple things that teach your baby to recognize shapes and objects. Playing a simple game using household items

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • baby
  • small plastic container
  • baby blocks
  1. Step 1

Place you baby in the highchair or on your lap.
Sit facing you baby. Give baby the block to hold. Say the work BLOCK as you hold the block.
Give baby time to explore the block. You will know when the block is not longer of interest because your baby will look away and drop the block.

  2. Step 2

After the item becomes "boring" to your baby- it is time to introduce the
plastic container. Take the block and drop it into the container so it makes a noise as it drops in. Make sure your baby is watching and repeat a few times.

  3. Step 3

Now place the container and the block in front of baby and see if she imitates
your motion and tries to put the block in the container. Give praise if this action is repeated.

  4. Step 4

Next show your baby how to "dump" out the block from the container. When the bloock is in the container say "IN" and when you pour it our, say the words "OUT"

  5. Step 5

Repeat this game with other household items that are baby safe.
