How to reduce the fat content when baking a cake

you can use off the shelf cake mixes to create low or non fat cake receipes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • apple sauce
  • non fat yogurt
Step1
Prepare the cake mix and usual but instead of adding eggs and oil to the mix substitute with either non fat yogurt, for a fat free dessert or you can substitute with applesauce.
Step2
Add 1/4 cup more water to the receipe to compensate for not adding oil.
Step3
Bake cake as usual
Step4
enjoy your low fat dessert.

Tips & Warnings

  • try adding flavored non fat yogurt. I like adding non fat raspberry yogurt to chocolate cake mix.
